Today is confusing me. I think it's still the heat as I had a little more sleep than I've been managing this week. But I've just gone out to buy lunch (guacamole bagel and vanilla Coke) and it was a nightmare.
Traffic baffled me – I couldn't assess where it was going or how long it would take to get there, so road-crossing became a whole new challenge.
In shops, I couldn't hear or understand the staff properly and had to ask them to repeat themselves. I didn't understand what was going on when they handed me the bagel – I was convinced it was the one that should have gone to a customer standing next to me – and I couldn't deal with the fact that in the newsagent where I got the Coke I was dealt with by the clerk standing furthest from me, not the one standing in front of me. He was serving someone standing in fromt of the clerk that was serving me, if you see what I mean. It was very confusing, but it shouldn't have been.
And now I'm finding it difficult to describe the incidents in an understandable way.
Soon, lunch will be over and I will have to cudgel this fuddled brain into coding.
